A work of two games without a win resembles something of a slump for a part such as Malmo, accustomed to dominating this league. That was certainly the case last season once they ended the campaign as champions for the 24th time and did so by nine points. They began แทงบอลออนไลน์ with two wins from two, but they’ve dropped below those standards within the last two, including a 3-1 away loss to Djurgarden, who boasts the sole remaining 100% record in the Allsvenskan.
While losing away to Djurgarden was a blow, we couldn’t necessarily call it a shock as they too are probably be involved in the title shake-up this season. It was probably the home draw with Ostersunds that disappointed them a lot more than anything, and they’ll be desperate to resume winning ways in the home, where they last lost a group game in August 2019.
They’re deemed big favorites to obtain the three points on Sunday, but they didn’t win any of the two head-to-head meetings last season on route for their title. A 3-2 away loss and 2-2 home draw prove that they’ll be about it to create it third time lucky, and Varbergs enter this on a high, having won away at Ostersunds to give them their maiden win of the season.
Varbergs concede six goals in both games ahead of last time out, meaning they have the second-worst defensive record in the league. Ironically, they’ve shipped the same number of goals as Malmo, so Jon Dahl Tomasson will be especially keen for his side to improve their fortunes at the rear, but not at the cost of losing some of these attacking quality.
Sunday’s home team is a top foot, an aggressive type of outfit, and you can expect them to produce many chances. Still, you can never be sure about them in another direction, so Varbergs will probably get counter-attacking opportunities.
Malmo is priced 1/4 to return to winning ways and given they’ve looked a lot more than shoddy defensively, and I wouldn’t necessarily want to pile into that. However, I expect them to win, but I suspect they’ll create a few nervy moments at times.
As stated, they’ll create chances and commit bodies forward, but possibly the cost of conceding a target or two that can’t be ruled out. Even when winning the title last season, 60% of games saw both teams score.
I think this is a bet-builder type of game, and I like the appearance of Malmo win and to Score in Both Halves, which will be priced 20/21 (Bet365). I suspect this is quite an end-to-end game, and I couldn’t completely exclude the away side scoring in the very first half, which will be what put me against backing Malmo/Malmo HT/FT at a relatively similar price.
